POOL LIABILITY WAIVER RESCINDED

5/5/2011 – During the Special Meeting of the Board of Directors, a motion was made and approved by the Board to rescind the requirement for a liability waiver for the Villages of Westcreek Owners Association home owners before use of the pools.  Discussions with the home owners, directors, staff and our attorney convinced the Board the need for a liability waiver is not warranted.  We apologize for the confusion and frustration this may have caused some of the home owners.  The Liability Waivers that some of you have signed can be retrieved from the Community Center before this Friday, May 6 at 5:00 p.m. at which time all the remaining Liability Waivers will be shredded.

SWIM LESSONS

Welcome back to sizzling summer! It is splashing fun time. The names will stay the
same, but the game will be different. The lessons will move at a progressive rate. Each
group, no matter what age, will swim a day fully dressed: pants, shirt, socks and shoes.
Your child will swim in his/her clothes and learn lifesaving skills while dressed in the
extra weight. It is an essential survival skill all will develop.

Parents will be asked to wait outside the gated pool area allowing children to target their
attention on the instructor and class work, and not focus on your praise. Parent
involvement is critical after the lessons to reinforce skills learned by allowing children
pool practice time during Family Swim Hours. It is vital that your approval and praise
continue through the night until the next class session.

Please keep in mind that the classes are group classes. We ask that all students be
assessed to be placed in the correct class. Assessments will take place on the
following dates and are part of the swim lesson fees.

Assessments to be held at the Community Center Pool

ME & MOM SWIM CLASS

Ages 1 through 3

This class is for those wanting to introduce their children to the water.  This class will offer you and your toddler a chance to bond while developing the basic skills of buoyancy, propulsion and breath control. It’s crazy to teach a child to enjoy the water, without giving them these primary lifesaving skills.  The class will be grouped according to age.  Mom will get in the water with the child and work with the instructor to teach basic skills.  The class for the 2 and 3 year olds will swim one day in their clothes.  The toddlers will learn how to exit the water while in their clothes.
